At Domestic Violence Advocacy Australia, we are committed to advocating for the rights and safety of women and children in the family court system. Recently, we made a powerful submission into the Family Law Amendment Bill 2024, calling for crucial reforms to better protect survivors of domestic abuse and hold perpetrators accountable. Our submission highlights the systemic failures that allow coercive control, financial abuse, and emotional manipulation to persist, even after a woman leaves an abusive relationship. It’s time for a family court system that puts safety and justice for victims first, and we are determined to be part of the change.
